It is not the climate changes that are to blame for droughts, drying out of soil and streams, lowering of rivers and groundwater levels. Rather, the real culprits are the three phenomena which keep on spreading inconspicuously but quickly throughout the lands:
- Compressed surfaces (even those with small inclination degree);
- Man-made slopes (in which the existing capillaries are broken); and
- Draining ditches in the lowlands
